Number of Data Fields

The header record in a Data Connection import file must have the correct number of data fields or the file will not import.

The header record for a 1040 tax return contains ten data fields. The header record for 1065, 1120, 1041, and 990 tax returns has six data fields. See File Format for details regarding Data Connection file header records.
