Trapped Data

Trapped data can occur under the following circumstances in any Data Connection group data – Master Group activities, standard activities, and non activity group data:

For activities and group data that requires a Copy number:

When a data value is imported using a Copy number that does not exist in the target group, and
The required field for the group is not included in the import file.

For group data that does not require a Copy number:

When a data value is imported using a Group number that does not exist in the target group, and
The required field for the group is not included in the import file.

This condition means that when the user is attempting to create a new member in a group, the required field for the group must be imported with any other group member data fields.

If the group member already exists – the user is simply changing the value of a data field in an existing group member – the required field can be imported, but does not need to be imported.
