Preparing the E-file for the Extension

You must create a data file for every locator you wish to e-file. The following major tasks to create a data file are detailed below:

• Enable e-file and auto-calculation.
• Enter PIN information.
• Enter any additional information.
• Review e-file diagnostics.
• Create an electronic file for the extension.

Preparing the Paper Part of the Extension

Print the extension. We will generate forms that must be filed with the IRS and forms that are provided to the taxpayer as a record.
